At the city council meeting on Tuesday, May 21st, Police Chief Shilson publicly recognized us for our assistance with the grand opening of the new police annex.

Xi Tau Lambda prepares to Celebrate 40 Years of Service

The Xi Tau Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was chartered March 3, 1984. The 22 chapter founders were passionate about starting a chapter in the North Dallas community. For the last 40 years, the North Dallas Alphas have served the community through our Alpha Legacy Group program mentoring to young men. We have provided scholarships to young men entering college as well as resources for responsible choices through Project Alpha. In our community, we have provided food, clothing, toys, and other resources in underserved communities. In addition, Xi Tau Lambda is the source of Alpha leadership at the National, Regional, and District level. This year, celebrate 40 years of service to our community. Stay tuned for upcoming events!

A Legacy of Commitment

Since 2019, the Xi Tau Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has been an avid supporter of MISD schools, students, and families. Their commitment to the district began on the campus of Scott Johnson Middle School (SJMS) and has since then grown incomplexity and size.

Fall of 2019

The Xi Tau Lambda Chapter began mentoring the young men of Scott Johnson's "Boys II Men" program. Monthly, these community leaders presented their fraternity's Alpha Legacy curriculum to these young men.

Fall of 2021

Due to the resounding success and impact of its Alpha Legacy program at SJMS, McKinney ISD invited this chapter to expand its partnership with the district by bringing its Alpha Legacy curriculum and monthly mentoring program to the campus of Boyd High School.

Fall of 2022

Once again, their reputation preceded them. McKinney ISD invited the Xi Tau Lambda Chapter to deepen its commitment to MISD by extending its mentoring program to the young men of Collin County's John R.Roach Detention Center.
